Lisa M. Nyuli concentrates her practice in the areas of family law, including divorce, custody, paternity, adoptioncivil unions and representation of children as a guardian ad litem. She has been licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois since 1989, and before the U.S. Supreme Court since June 2004. Ms. Nyuli has been named a Super Lawyer for 2014 & 2015 and a Leading Lawyer in Illinois for 2014, 2015 & 2016.

Active in professional organizations and a frequent seminar speaker, Ms. Nyuli is a past president of the Kane County Bar Association, a past president of the Kane County Bar Foundation and a past president of the Elgin Bar Association. She was on the Board of Governors of the Illinois State Bar Association and has served on numerous committees of the ISBA. She was instrumental in efforts to bring a Children’s Waiting Room to the Kane County Judicial Center.

Ms. Nyuli received the Family Law Achievement Award in 2003 from the Kane County Bar Association Family Law Committee, and the Alumnus of the Year Award from the Northern Illinois University College of Loan Alumni Council in 2005. She received the Kane County Bar Foundation Pro Bono Award in 2006.

She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and was chosen by her peers as a SuperLawyer in 2012 and 2013, and a Leading Lawyer in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Her community activities have included serving on the Board of Family Counseling Service of Aurora for 12 years (including as its President), and as a Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow.

Ms. Nyuli holds a B.S. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1986) and a J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law (1989).
